Edinburgh woke up to a Twitter storm this morning (with the hash-tag #MyCommuterChallenge trending) generated by the 21 participants in this year’s challenge; aimed at highlighting the challenges, benefits and speeds of some different ways to commute into Scotland’s capital.

Our Challenge Commuters jogged, walked, cycled, caught the bus and jumped in their cars (including one electric car) from four points around Edinburgh, Straiton, Ingliston, Ocean Terminal and Newcraighall into St. Andrews Square at the centre.

On what was a fun morning the SEStran Commuter Challenge demonstrates that we can all commute into our workplaces in several interesting and time efficient ways, keeping healthy and active whilst jogging, walking or cycling, catching up your social media on the bus and of course morning radio in the car.

We were also  joined this year by our youngest ever commuters thanks to the team at Urban Arrow, well done guys. Many thanks to all the participants and our partners, Enterprise Car Club, Edinburgh College, Social Car, The Edinburgh Festival of Cycling, Edinburgh Council and The Bike Station.

We will see you next year, until then, happy commuting!
