SEStran is launching the following Call for Partners in relation to its proposed MaaS/DRT project: SEStran Call for Partners

The study on Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) carried out on SEStran’s behalf, and published in March this year, identified a need to explore greater use across the region of emerging technology to assist DRT’s development. We believe the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic has made this need for new solutions even greater, for commercial bus operators as well as community providers.

Moreover, implementing greater use of technology across the whole network of mobility as a service (MaaS) operations has never been more relevant than now. Journey planning, booking, and payment can all be integrated by tech solutions that are already available.

With this in mind SEStran has launched a call for partners in a project which will seek funding, from the Scottish Government’s MaaS Investment Fund and elsewhere, to build a common, publicly owned, digital platform for MaaS users throughout the region, with a series of demonstrator projects focusing on (but not limited to) DRT solutions.

SEStran is seeking partners for the project bid of different kinds: both community and commercial bus operators, and MaaS/DRT tech providers. Initial informal expressions of interest are sought by Friday, 18th December, with written proposals by Monday, 4th January. More details on the scope of the project and the nature of the proposals sought are set out in the attached Call.

I hope this is of interest to you. If you would like an informal discussion on the project, please don’t hesitate to contact julie.vinders@sestran.gov.uk or andrew.ferguson@sestran.gov.uk.
