It is always nice to see your work recognised by your peers, yes we are focused on delivering a more sustainable transport system come what may but it is also nice to get a ‘pat on the back’ for all the hard work delivering on our vision to:

Lead the development of a transportation system for South East Scotland that will enable businesses to function effectively and provide everyone living in the region with improved access to healthcare, education, public services and employment opportunities.”

We are therefore pleased to announce that we have been nominated at the forthcoming Scottish Transport Awards and Chartered Institution of Highways & Transport (CIHT) Awards as follows:

Scottish Transport Awards 2017 in the following categories:

  • Accessibility Project of the Year for the SEStran Thistle Assistance Card and App
  • Excellence in Technology and Innovation for our work developing ‘X-Route: Co-designing active travel’
  • Excellence in Travel Information & Marketing with our real-time passenger information system bustrackerSEStran

Supported by the Scottish Government and Transport Scotland, the awards bring together the transport community to recognise and celebrate industry achievements across Scotland. This year’s ceremony will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow on the 15th June 2017.

Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) Awards 2017 in the following category:

  • CIHT/DfT Inclusive Transportation Award for the SEStran Thistle Assistance Card

The CIHT Awards are a celebration of the highways and transportation industry. They are an opportunity to reward the achievements of those working in the sector and to promote best practice to a wider industry audience. This year’s awards are taking place on the 15th June in London.

SEStran would like to thank all the judges for their nominations and wish all the nominees the very best of luck.
